Berkshire Stud is a private Thoroughbred breeding farm whose mission is to breed outstanding Thoroughbred racehorses. We are constantly trying to improve our stock and raise our horses in the best way possible. Our mares are retained until they have proven their worth through progeny race results with the purpose of developing them and their families. It is critical in this approach that the horses we breed race successfully therefore nothing is spared in the rearing of our young racing prospects. We offer most of our fillies and all of our saleable colts at public auction, usually at Saratoga and Keeneland. We try to keep a few homebred fillies each year to race in our colors and return home as future broodmares developing the families of their dams and siblings. We are happy to show visitors and interested parties our mares and yearlings throughout the year. Berkshire Stud is visited annually by many of the world’s premier horsemen and our yearlings have been purchased by leading trainers and owners from around the globe.
