Berkshire Stud  maintains one of the largest registered Hampshire sheep flocks in the Northeast. The primary reason is to utilize the sheep in a rotational grazing program in the pastures being rested from horse use. Sheep break up the equine parasite cycle, produce high nitrogen manure, eat almost every weed, reduce the need for herbicides, and their cloven hooves help aerate compacted soil. Our flock has become a premier source of quality Hampshire breeding stock and has produced numerous New York State Fair and Regional Hampshire Show champions. Berkshire Stud rams are in use in both purebred and commercial sheep flocks across the United States. Breeding stock is available at all times.
